Surprise novelty: „Winter in the Salzburg region“ locomotive

The ultimate ski event is coming to Austria! The winter sports resort Saalbach Hinterglemm in the Salzburg region is the location of the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships and will attract countless fans and captivate millions in front of their TV sets between 4th February and 16th February.  

To get a sustainable journey to the World Championships literally on the tracks, a special locomotive has been designed in a cooperation between SalzburgerLand Tourism, ÖBB, Österreich Werbung and Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, which will run between Austria and Germany during a year. The locomotive was christened on 17th December during a festive ceremony at Salzburg main station by two-times World Champion and former overall World Cup winner Alexandra Meissnitzer.

And of course, ROCO is involved, too! The electric locomotive 1116 233-8 with its unique design will be issued as a one-off production (Art. No.: 7500036, 7510036, 7520036). 

This authentic reproduction of the attractive Taurus locomotive with the slogan „Winter im Salzburger Land“ (Winter in the Salzburg region) will communicate the Salzburg region and skiing to the whole world. A model for every fan of skiing and one that should not be missing in any collection!
